Continuing on with Path to Freedom's 100-Foot Diet challenge is this week's meal. This is what we're eating here in the Midwest, where February is the heart of winter (not that you could tell today--we hit 60 degrees!). The menu consisted of:
Chicken (pasture-raised in our back yard last summer)
Crookneck squash (homegrown--these store pretty well in the basement)
Baked potatoes (from the store, but in-state)
Butter (local organic dairy)
Sour cream (local dairy)
Daffodil cake (not local except for our own eggs & milk--my daughter was inspired to make this recipe out of the Mennonite Community Cookbook: Favorite Family Recipes)
In case you missed it, you can see our first meal here.
